LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT CENTER
The Leadership Development Center is a 4-day summer camp, sponsored by the American Red Cross Bay Area's Youth Services Department. Youth work together to gain leadership, teamwork and communication skills. They also learn about humanitarian work and participate in recreational and community service activities.
Any youth entering 9th-12th grades, who is interested in gaining more leadership skills, doing volunteer work and making a one-year commitment to Red Cross service may apply.
How To Apply to Leadership Development Center 2006
The American Red Cross annual Leadership Development Center will be held at Mills College in Oakland, CA, from July 25-28, 2006. LDC is a 4 day, 3 night Leadership training open to all Bay Area High School students who are interested in volunteering with the Red Cross. The LDC schedule will include: CPR Certification; Leadership Training, including a public speaking session; Preparedness Education training; workshops on starting a Red Cross Club, HIV/AIDS peer education & International Humanitarian Law; a talent show, disaster drill and much more! We would love to have all enthusiastic high school leaders entering Grades 9- 12, interested in community service apply.
