More than 100 members of the Bay Area philanthropic and international diplomatic communities attended an invitation-only reception at the home of British Consul General Julian Evans and his wife Gayle Evans on Thursday, February 21, in anticipation of the annual Paint the Town Red Gala for the American Red Cross Bay Area.

2/12/2019 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA MIXES HIGH FASHION AND FUNDRAISING FOR COMMUNITY DISASTER EFFORTS
More than 100 members of the Bay Area philanthropic community attended an invitation-only trunk show on Sunday, February 10 in anticipation of the annual Paint the Town Red Gala for the American Red Cross Bay Area. The show was hosted by gala committee members Elyse Adams and Lana Gleckman at the home of committee member Alison Davis in Tiburon, Calif.

1/31/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA OPENS SHELTER FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY DALY CITY FIRE
The American Red Cross Bay Area is opening a shelter today at noon for residents displaced by the 85-unit apartment fire in Daly City, Calif. this morning. The shelter is located at Albert M. Teglia Community Center at 285 Abbot Avenue in Daly City. The shelter is equipped with cots and blankets, and the Red Cross will be serving meals to families affected by the blaze. The shelter will remain open until water and electricity are restored and city officials provide permission for residents to return to their homes.

1/25/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA OPENS EVACUATION CENTER IN SAN ANSELMO
As a result of flash flood possibilities and evacuations in San Anselmo, Fairfax and Ross in Marin County, the American Red Cross Bay Area tonight opened an evacuation center at Isabel Cook School, located at 1000 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in San Anselmo, Calif., to provide shelter for residents whose homes could potentially be affected by flooding caused by the latest winter storm to hit the Bay Area.

1/6/2019 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA PROVIDES GUIDANCE FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY POWER OUTAGES
The American Red Cross Bay Area is urging residents affected by power outages to shelter in place in their homes through the weekend if they are not able stay with friends or families following the storms that first moved into the Bay Area on January 4. The Red Cross does not currently have shelters in operation in the Bay Area; however, the organization has been supporting families whose homes were made uninhabitable by the storms, as well as working closely with local officials on plans to deliver services should evacuations or shelters be required.
