2/12/2019 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA AND COMMUNITY JOIN TOGETHER TO PAINT THE TOWN RED AT ANNUAL GALA
The American Red Cross Bay Area will be hosting its annual Paint the Town Red Gala on Saturday, February 28 at San Francisco City Hall. The special night will bring together more than 400 members of the Bay Area philanthropic and corporate community to raise funds in support of Red Cross disaster readiness and relief efforts in the Bay Area.

The American Red Cross Bay Area is seeking nominations for its annual heroes awards program in San Mateo County. The program is designed to celebrate the community’s everyday heroes, recognizing those individuals and organizations that make a difference in their community through acts of extraordinary kindness and courage. The heroes will be honored at the annual San Mateo County Heroes Breakfast on Thursday, June 4 at Dominic’s Restaurant at Poplar Creek Golf Course in San Mateo.

The American Red Cross Bay Area is seeking nominations for its annual heroes award breakfast in Marin County. The program is designed to celebrate the community’s everyday heroes, recognizing those individuals and organizations that make a difference in their community through acts of extraordinary kindness and courage. The heroes will be honored at the Marin County Heroes Breakfast at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12 at the Seafood Peddler Restaurant in San Rafael.

12/16/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA OPENS SHELTER FOR RESIDENTS DISPLACED BY NOB HILL APARTMENT FIRE
The American Red Cross Bay Area has opened a shelter for the approximately 70 residents displaced by an apartment complex fire in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. The shelter is located at the City of Refuge United Church, located at 1025 Howard Street in San Francisco. Buses will be transporting residents from the apartment complex to the shelter over the next few hours.

9/29/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA HONORS CONTRA COSTA AREA HEROES AT BREAKFAST IN WALNUT CREEK ON OCT. 17
The American Red Cross Bay Area today announced the winners of its Contra Costa Heroes Awards, all of whom will be honored at the Contra Costa Heroes Breakfast on Friday, Oct. 17 at Scott’s Restaurant and Garden in Walnut Creek.  Among this year’s heroes are a man who saved a stranger’s life by donating one of his kidneys and an advocate for the homeless who founded a walk-in center that assists more than 100 people a week.

8/18/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA OPENS SERVICE CENTER FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY CASA DE VALLEJO FIRE
The American Red Cross Bay Area will open a service center today to provide assistance to the more than 100 residents displaced by the Casa de Vallejo retirement home fire on Friday. The service center is located in the Florence Douglas Senior Center at 333 Amador Street in Vallejo. The service center will remain open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

8/15/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA OPENS EVACUATION CENTER FOR RESIDENTS AFFECTED BY VALLEJO RETIREMENT HOME FIRE
The American Red Cross Bay Area has opened an evacuation center this morning for the more than 100 residents displaced by a four-alarm retirement home fire in Vallejo. The evacuation center is located at the First Baptist Church of Vallejo, located at 2025 Sonoma Blvd, near where the fire ignited overnight. The Red Cross will be providing food, shelter and counseling services for affected families.

7/29/2008 - AMERICAN RED CROSS BAY AREA HONORS SOLANO AREA HEROES AT LUAU IN SUISUN CITY ON AUG. 23
The American Red Cross Bay Area today announced the winners of its Solano County Heroes Awards, all of whom will be honored at the Solano County Heroes Luau on Saturday, Aug. 23 at the Suisun Waterfront Park in Suisun City.  Among this year’s heroes are a Vacaville police officer who rescued a stabbing victim while the perpetrator lurked in the next room and an 80-year-old woman who serves breakfast every morning to the homeless at Mission Solano in Fairfield.

7/7/2019 - INTERNATIONAL RED CROSS PHOTO EXHIBIT SHOWCASES STRENGTH OF HUMAN SPIRIT AMID WAR
The American Red Cross Bay Area and the Presidio Trust are proud to announce that they will host 145 Years of Red Cross Photography: A Memory of Humanity, an exhibition showcasing historic photographs from armed conflict around the world as seen through the eyes of the affected, journalists and the humanitarian workers of the International Committee for the Red Cross. The exhibition will be on display from July 16 – August 17 at the Presidio Officers’ Club Exhibition Hall in San Francisco. Admission is free, and the exhibition is open Wednesdays – Sundays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A seven-year-old girl who saved her mother’s life by calling 911 and two Belmont men who rescued middle school children pinned under an SUV following an accident were among the heroes honored by the American Red Cross Bay Area at its annual San Mateo County Heroes Breakfast on June 5 at Dominic’s Restaurant at Poplar Creek Golf Course in San Mateo. Approximately 100 people attended the breakfast event to celebrate the local heroes and provide support for the American Red Cross in the Bay Area.

The American Red Cross Bay Area has opened a shelter tonight to provide emergency shelter and food to the more than 50 residents displaced by the apartment fire at 3010 Adeline Street in Oakland. The shelter is located in Oakland near where the fire occurred in a 38-unit apartment complex earlier this evening.

The American Red Cross Bay Area has opened a shelter tonight for the more than 50 residents displaced by the apartment complex fire in the Mission District of San Francisco. The shelter is located near where the blaze occurred earlier this evening. The Red Cross will be providing food, shelter and a warm place to sleep tonight for affected families. The shelter will remain open until alternative housing can be secured for all who were displaced.
