Are you interested in saving lives? Do you enjoy speaking in front of groups and sharing your know-how with others? Consider becoming an American Red Cross health and safety instructor.

Our instructors provide training in a variety of environments with a focus on hands-on learning combined with visual aids such as videos and easy-to-read materials. You will have the opportunity to teach the basics of first aid, CPR, pet first aid, disaster preparedness and other lifesaving skills.

Chapter Instructor
Chapter instructors are volunteers who teach health and safety or disaster preparedness classes throughout the Bay Area. As an American Red Cross instructor, you will gain invaluable teaching experiences, receive quality training, and teach others in your community, company or organization to save a life.

In-House Instructors
In-house instructors take their Red Cross training back to their workplace or community organization to provide convenient, cost-effective training for their co-workers, customers and clients.

In-house instructors for first aid, CPR/AED and Aquatic work within authorized provider agencies – companies or organizations that are authorized to provide Red Cross training to their employees and clients.

In-house instructors for disaster preparedness take part in our train-the-trainer program.
