Donating to charity feels good. What feels even better is seeing how your donation helps a person down the street, across the country or around the world. Here’s a look behind some of the photos in the Red Cross Holiday Giving Catalog.

The Comfort of a Hot Meal
Calista Warrick, 4, of Nunnelly, Tenn., was clearly excited about this delivery from the American Red Cross.
In April 2010, severe storms swept through the South, spawning tornadoes and severe floods. Tennessee in particular took a hard hit.
Thousands of people were without electricity, making food preparation almost impossible. The American Red Cross traveled through affected neighborhoods to distribute food, which in this case was pizza donated by Pizza Hut and NPC International.
This was just one of millions of hot meals given to disaster survivors this year through the generosity of Americans.
About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies nearly half of the nation's blood; teaches lifesaving skills; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.
