The delegates are in the nation’s capital for the Miss Black USA Pageant, which runs from July 29 to August 4. They were invited to the Red Cross for a meet-and-greet with volunteers and employees, many of whom took the opportunity to get autographs and have their photos taken with the gracious young women.
The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation is celebrating its 22nd year of promoting education and leadership among young women of color.
About the American Red Cross:
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a charitable organization — not a government agency — and depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its humanitarian mission.
