Bob Garrett is the Chairman of the Board, the Senior Vice President of the San Francisco Regional Commercial Banking Group of Union Bank of California, and a board member of the Union Bank Foundation, Association for Corporate Growth in San Francisco.

Jeffrey Block is the board's Chair of Governance. He is a media consultant working in the areas of bridging "old" and "new" media and has over 30 years of broadcasting experience. Jeff is also the former Vice President/General Manager at KTVU Fox 2 in the Bay Area.

Mark Bryggman joined EDS in 1995. His career there has focused on the financial services industry and includes international executive and consulting positions, as well as business development and client relationship management positions.

Scot Ferrell is the Senior Vice President of Marsh Risk &
Insurance Services. He has 19 years of experience in areas such as risk management and disaster recovery. Previous experience includes careers with Ernst & Young and The Gap, Inc.

Ramzi A. Haidamus is the Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing, Dolby Licensing Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dolby Laboratories, Inc.

Roberto Herrera is the President of the Westmoor High School Red Cross Club, and Manager of Community Service and Preparedness for the SF YES Team. He was selected to serve on the 2007 Leadership Development Center Staff and Planning Committee.

Lixin Huang is the Chair of Volunteer Resources. She is the President of the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and also serves as the Vice Chair of the Herbal Medicine Committee of the World Federation of Traditional Chinese Medicine Society.

Hope Jarvis is Senior Vice President at Chubb and Son, which provides property, casualty, and specialty insurance to individuals and businesses worldwide. She leads an internal consulting group that assesses, designs, and implements Chubb's corporate strategies.

Melanie Nallicheri is the board's Chair of Strategic Planning. She is a Vice President of Booz Allen Hamilton in San Francisco, working in healthcare both nationally and abroad. Previously, Melanie was the interim CEO of a mid-sized
business.

Sheila Mirzai has served as a Northern California Youth Consortium and Pacific Services Area Delegate and is an HIV/AIDS Instructor. She is the Founder and President of the Red Cross Club at Clayton Valley High School and has recently received the Youth Services Award.

Hiro Ogawa is 50% owner and founder of consolidated subsidiary Container Applications International, Inc., and serves as the company's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Previously, he worked with Itel Containers for 12 years as VP of Marketing for Japan and Korea.

Gregory Portillo, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in Management in the School of Business, Holy Names University, in Oakland, where he teaches business-government relations, and workplace ethics. He also serves on the External Relations and Community Preparedness Committees.

Sylvia Reynolds is the Chief Marketing Officer of Wells Fargo & Company. She has previously held senior management positions with Bank of America, Ceridian, and Citibank. She is an active community leader in organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club of America.

Elizabeth Shih is the board's Human Resources Chair, and serves as the Senior Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer of Catholic Healthcare West. She previously served as the Executive Vice President of the Eastern Division of Sutter Health in Sacramento.

Janice Hansen Zakin, M.D. is an
Obstetrician/Gynecologist
currently working for the San
Francisco Free Clinic as well as for
NASA. She also serves on the
Board of The California College of
the Arts, the San Francisco Ballet, and
Engender Health.

Susan Atherton Susan is known for her success in the world of enterprise software, and for her dedication to her philanthropic causes. She has led several highly successful sales and marketing operations for companies such as Oracle, DataMind, and DoubleClick. Her professional affiliations currently include Chief Public Support Officer for CNW Entertainment. She is the Vice Chair/Chair Elect.

Jeffrey Butler serves as the Chairman of the Board for Junior Achievement of the Bay Area. He is a former Senior Vice President with the Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Wayne Deboe was an Import/Export Specialist for Lucent Technologies for 34 years. For the past eight years has been the Director of Operations for the Latino Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse of Alameda County. He is also the Alameda County Chair.

Gabriel Gallaread is the Chair of San Francisco County and a Sergeant of Police with the San Francisco Police Department. He has been a Red Cross volunteer for nearly 40 years in numerous capacities, including with the Disaster Action Team and Volunteer Services.

Joanne M. Hayes-White is the Chief of the San Francisco Fire Department. She also serves as the Chair for the 2006 March of Dimes WalkAmerica event. Joanne was selected in 2004 and 2005 as one of the San Francisco Business Times' Most Influential Women of the Year.

H. Thomas Hicks is the Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of URS Corporation. He is a senior finance executive with extensive experience in corporate finance. Formerly, he was the Managing Director of the Los Angeles Office of Merrill Lynch Investment Banking.

Barry Hutton is the Chair of the Service Delivery Committee. Previously he served on the Board of the Black Adoption Placement & Research Center in Oakland. Professionally, Mr. Hutton is the Senior Director, Investor Relations at UTStarcom – a global telecommunications company. His career has focused on investment banking and the financial markets.

Linda Jenkinson is the Chair and Co-founder of LesConcierges. Prior to LesConcierges, she was Co-Founder and CEO of Dispatch Management Services Corp, an international on-demand courier company. DMSC had more than 6,500 employees in 65 cities internationally.

Matt Martell is the Chair of San Mateo County, and the Captain of the Patrol Division of the Foster City Police Department. His previous volunteer experience includes service as a volunteer police officer with the United Nations Mission to Kosovo in 1999.

Ronald J. Vidal is the Chair of Marin County and he is a senior telecommunications industry executive who founded the Anthracite Group, a technology firm specializing in new ventures, capital markets, financial communications and public policy. His previous experience includes executive positions with Level 3 Communications, WorldCom, and MFS Communications. He also serves as the President of the Mill Valley Association of Volunteer Firefighters.

Eleanor Najjar is the Board's Chair of External Relations. She is a civic leader in the Bay Area community, serving a multitude of organizations such as the Junior League of San Francisco and San Francisco C.A.R.D. (Community Agencies Responding to Disasters).

Byron H. Pollitt, Jr. is currently serving as the Chair of Finance, as well as Treasurer of the Board. Outside of ARCBA, he is the Chief Financial Officer of Visa, Inc. Formerly, Byron served as the EVP and CFO for Gap, Inc. and for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.

Cindy Rainey is the Chair of Development as well as the Chair of Major Gifts. She has over 30 years of fundraising experience, and previously served the American Red Cross in Kansas as both a State Financial Development Advisor and the Director of Financial Development.

Billy P. White was the Fire Chief for the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Fire Department, supervising 26 employees. He has also been a Red Cross volunteer for six years, where he has served as a course instructor and as the Disaster Chair of Solano County.

Stephen A. Zellerbach began volunteering with the Golden Gate Chapter in 1944. His mother got him involved in the Red Cross as a child when she was transcribing documents into Braille. He is currently owner of McCutchan Publishing
Corporation.

Harold Brooks, Chief Executive Officer
Harold oversees the strategic development of one of the leading American Red Cross chapters in the country (serving over 4.5 million), and manages the daily operations of over 3,000 volunteers and 100 employees.

F. Neil Homer, Chief Financial Officer
Neil oversees ARCBA's Finance and Information Technology departments, as well as its Distribution Center. He maintains accurate financial reporting, and ensures quality technological service.

Gregory Smith, Chief Public
Support Officer

Greg is responsible for all
fundraising and marketing/public relations. Formerly, he was the volunteer chair of the chapter board, assuming that role the week after September 11th.

Rita Chick, Chief Human Resources Officer
Rita assumes responsibility for employees and volunteers, and has been employed by the American Red Cross since 1989. She has served on numerous task forces at the American Red Cross National Headquarters.

Jean Nickaloff, Chief Program Officer
Jean administers the chapter's programs and services, and has over 30 years of experience in emergency management. She has directed disaster relief operations locally and around the country.

Dina Waters, Executive Assistant to the CEO
Dina has worked within chapter management since 1990, developing and administering office management systems and chapter policies. She also serves as the liaison to the Board of Directors.
